Signum owners. "What is that car?"

As a caravaner I'm all over the country, this week at Sandy Balls in the New Forest. Maybe for the 7th or 8th time this year this guy comes over and asks, "Excuse me asking but what is that car?"

It is debadged and only the calipers have got Vauxhall on them. I do'nt mind as I extol the virtues of being a Signum (not Sigma) owwner and how Vauhall missed the point when marketing it.

It's 20 minutes or so of self indulgence and they go off much wiser.

Question is, have other Signum owners had the same experience?

Lol just ask signumboy, his car was once written down by a garage as a Vauxhall Irmscher

Yep, used to get it all the time when I first had the car (Signum had only been out for a year when I got mine). Still get people asking what it is as whilst it still has the Signum bit on the back, it's debadged on the rear and has a chrome strip Irmscher grill and Opel wheel centre caps.

The look of puzzlement on some people's faces as they walk past is a picture.

And yep, it's been mispronounced more times than I can care to remember - usually Sigma being the common one as well.

i had some spray work done on mine 2 weeks ago and the guy had no idea what it was and asked if it was an import lol. Had much fun telling him the whole life story.

I was asked " what is it "4 times at Crail Total Vauxhall day and asked again if i was selling it

When I had my windows tinted, the manager asked me "Do they do a saloon version of this?". "Yes", I replied, "It's called the Vectra".
