    Default 3.2 erratic idle

My LPG converted 3.2 won’t idle properly when it starts up on petrol and is showing all the symptoms of fuel starvation. Fault code 0170 is showing up and the EML is on. It runs fine once switched to LPG after a minute or two. The fuel computer is reporting an average mpg of 50 rather than the usual 30 though actual LPG consumption is unchanged. This problem coincided with a service of the LPG system. Initially I thought that the T pipe connections between the throttle vacuum diaphrams had been disconnected but they are fine. Any ideas?

Fault Code 0170 is usually the MAF sensor, try taking it off and giving it a good clean with some electrical contact cleaner, the only other thing I can think of that would cause the problem you're having is one of the lambda sensors playing up. Hope this helps Good luck with it.

    Default 3.2 LPG erratic idle

Thanks for that Dave. MAF cleaned but no change. This fault has now become more LPG specific. The car recently ran out of LPG. After running a few miles on petrol and then restarting over a 2 day period on petrol it started and idled normally. Topping up the LPG tank and going back to petrol starting/LPG running has brought back the fault. Knowing little about the LPG system I am wondering whether there is a valve/switch which is sticking causing the car to try to start on the fuel it was last running on?

That would be a job for a lpg specialist.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
