I already have a few other threads on the subject of induction filters but not in the right place.
Right firstly my GSi came with a K&N panel filter and airbox mod and that seemed alright, but i wanted the induction roar.
So secondly came the cheap Halfords shielded universal induction filter, now this was bought as a tester and the sound produced was immense but it felt like it was lacking in performance when putting my foot down.
So that was sold and next up was a Pipercross Viper, now once again i brought this second hand as a tester but the biggest one i could find was off a MG ZS V6. Once on there was a tiny induction roar (but nothing like the Halfords one) but once again i seemed to lack performance, this might have been due to the fact that the filter outlet is 70mm and the airflow meter is 80mm so now i am back to my first setup and none the wiser.
Now before i go spending an obscene amount of money on the right Viper kit or similar whats peoples views on what to get now, i want a loud induction roar but the Viper is too quiet for my liking and i also know that the 3.2s don't like open filers due to heat soak.
    HELP ME PLEASE.

Why not set your sights on a country where parts list that is developed is for much larger displacement engines the good ole US of A I am sure you will find an induction kit for a chevy pontiac or corvette that will be suitable size and flow rate?

Do this to your airbox. Stick in a K&N, cheap, easy, looks standard sounds good

Only drill the wing side of the box. Sure I heard once that Countenay did it as part of their tuning packages.
