Default Boot open from flip key

My facelift vec-c estate has the motorised boot which opens when you press the boot button on the flip key. This is great for having a laugh by giving people a shock when they walk past the car but very annoying when I'm sitting in the front room or bedroom and the button gets squashed by the keys in my pocket and the boot opens by itself. I only find out sometime later when I happen to look outside or a nice neighbour tells me.

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to disable the remote boot opening or reduce the range of the remote?

Would not be easier to put the keys somewhere safer?

Wrap the keys in foil to prevent the signal reaching the car.

Thanks for the responses. Problem is you see I'm lazy and forgetful, so was looking for something I don't have to remember to do every time I come in the house. Someone I know always whinges that they have to have the fob right next to the car before it works, even with a fresh battery, but that would be an ideal permanent solution for me. My key fob seems to work from miles away.

A nice easy one time fix would be to pull a fuse or something, but I don't think I'm going to get that!

If you pull a fuse it won't open at all.

You could build something that emits massif RF noise so it reduces the range

It 'may' be something that could be disabled via Tech 2 or Vaux-COM.

I was actually up your way just the other day (folks live very close to IB) so could've had a go with my Vaux-COM when I was up.
