    Exclamation need some pointers

    1.9cdti sri 150 54 plate

any pointers for checks on the turbo?
think it sounds either bit loud in general and also a bit farty after kicking in.
was playing about after fiitting the blue pipes to the vacumn and the turbo when revved sounded airy but when revs were dropping sounded strange like a possible fart lol but i know nothing so am need of a few checks

did see someome had posted up about having a split on a white tube/pipe/hose but cant find it?

the only physical check you can easily do on the turbo is to take the intercooler pipe off and wiggle the shaft to check for excessive bearing play. It could just be that the new pipes are silicone and the old ones were rubber so the material makes it sound different (i could be wrong of course but stranger things have happened). Hope this helps. Good luck with it.

it'll be the flexi pipe off the turbo, just undo the jubilee clip that secures it, pull the pipe off and you should be looking at something that looks like a fan, just give it a wiggle up and down left and right to chack for bearing play and give it a spin by hand to make sure its nice and free, thats pretty much all you can do with it matey.

there should be a tiny amount of play like in any bearing but you'll deffo know if its too much it will flop about all over the place, its hard to say in mm or whatever how much as its something i just know from feel rather than measurements, like i say tho you'll deffo know if its shot.
