    confused brake pad wear censor

Have just changed the front pads as the light had been on for a couple of weeks. The pads are all good, but the light is still on because i need to change the wear censor. Got one ordered but want the wear light to go out as its mot time and don't think i will have time to do it before it goes in. If i just unplug and remove the censor will the light go out???? Or can i just cut the wire so it's still plugged in. This is so i don't get loads of road scum in the plug/connector block. What's the best way of making the light go out??? Answers on a post card please. lol

Leave it connected but cut the wires (on the sensor bit) and twist the wires together. That will stop the light until you get it replaced
