    Default Hand Brake Adjustment

    Done the pads and discs at the weekend, does anyone know how to adjust the handbrake tension please??

    I think you need to get to the back of the handbrake itself and the adjuster is on the back where the cables go into the ratchet, I've never done one so its a guess but thats where i'd start looking anyway.

    Is there mention of it in the how2 for changing the rear pads?

    It does suggest though that the handbrake should auto adjust.

    As far as I am aware it auto adjusment.

    I did them last weekend too, and the tension was identical, assume its auto adjusted to "best fit".

    It is auto adjust & should improve over a short period of time... you can help it along by holding the foot brake down then lift the handbrake up & down a few times allowing the mech to work & adjust.

    auto adjust. aplly handbrake then press on the brake peddle a few times. release the handbrake and do the same again. if u still have probs mate get it down the garage mate.hth

    Thanks for all the help, perhaps I should have looked on here first regarding the rear brake pad replacement etc before attempting to push the rear cylinders in and not wind them back...doh...all done now a treat
