    Default BC accuracy???

i did the gid upgrade, as per the how2 on here, and recently had the stalk activated (cheers Brian). now over the last 50 miles or so, the mpg on my car has been between 49-54. i havent been on any long runs or anything.

it goes up when i drive slow, and down more noteably when accelerating hard. i gather from my different driving styles that its working, but is it accurate enough, am i really returning these figures.

on my last fill of shell v power, the only fuel i use, £72 worth, roughly 65 litres i got 545 miles til the light started flashing, this was before i had full bc controls.

i am amazed by these figures, and might just go on a long run to see what i get from it. i thought i might have wired it up wrong or something.

    Any opinions???

I wouldn't trust a BC as far as I could throw it.

Brim the tank, do 4-500 miles (or whatever), brim the tank again and calculate manually your mpg.

The BC on my GSi consistently shows 4 mpg more than if I do brim to brim.

On my last tank I managed to do 43.3MPG the BC registered 41.9MPG. Pretty close tbh.

IMO that sounds about right concidering you haven't been on any long journeys, my 1.9cdti gives me about 600 a tank when doing alot of short journeys or 700+ when on motorway. I nly ever use diesel vpower/exellium/advance as it seems to give alot more mpg and power

Just filled up my 1.9cdti 120. Done 635 miles off a tank, mostly short journeys, furthest I've done on a motorway is 16 miles. I use BP normal diesel. Compared to my Mondeo TDDi, it's about 130 miles per tank more, off a one gallon bigger tank. I'm chuffed!!

well the lights just started flashing, so i'm gonna brim it on the good stuff and see what happens, gonna pop some millers in too, as my last full tank didnt have any in, i tend to alternate doses you see.

how many miles roughly shall i get when the light starts flashing? i mean i want it as low as possible, but i dont want to get any air or crud in the lines?

i'm not looking forward to going to shell, apparently theyve put the normal diesel down 1.5p and the v-power up 2p, whats the god damn crack with these people?

dont they know i'm trying to calculate my average consumption
