    Default Private Service Costs

So - I do a lot of mechanics work on the side mainly at weekends for friends, family and friends of friends and family etc.

Always produce a vechicle health check sheet for services etc and also document any specific work that I do with parts receipts to back it up.

So my question is around cost..

What do you guys think is a fair price per hour I guess for specific work, and on a general service cost, and I am talking about labour price that i should charge as I only every charge the parts price that it costs me even tho I get trade most of the time.

    What u all think?

Yeah I had that sort of figure in mind.

A few of the lads at work have various cars that they want me to do - from a Seat to a Merc, and just wanted a rough idea.. I said £30 ish per hr, but would prob be able to give a cost of a job before I do it..

Done a few Saabs lately and owners have been VERY happy at £30 per hr.. and these are knowledgable guys from the old Saab forums I used to frequent

    A

p.s. obviously goes without saying that for close friends and family than I dont bother actualy charging and its just a drink or something ...

I would charge "friends of friends" a bit more and cheaper for close friends & family.
