    Default Poor postie! :p

After getting sick of needless trips to the sorting office because postman couldn't be arsed to bring my parcels to my house and just leaves a pre-written 739 (sorry we missed you) card...

Because due to road works there's no way on earth I can get to the sorting office before 6pm.... I called the sorting office and explained that if my regular posty could use the lockable cupboard out the front of my property then the lazy git in the van (who doesn't have to do half the work the regular on foot postman does) could easily do the same.....
He/she can't even be bothered to bring my parcels with them!!

RM chap "how do you know they're not bringing the parcels with them?"

Me "because i've got a webcam watching the front of my house!"
(you get the sense he just poo'd his pants)

RM chap "oh, erm... well they're not supposed to leave parcels unattended"

Me "would you not agree that a lockable door within the bounds of my property was a safe enough place? and therefore just as good as a letterbox?"

RM chap "well, I umm... I'll find out who it is and speak to them"

I've just been through a delivery dispute with Royal Mail
The outcome was that they would no longer deliver anything to my address and I would have to collect it
I now collect ALL my letters and parcels once a week (typically a Saturday morning)

Since then NOTHING has gone missing

Last year I reported somewhere in the region of thirty missing items
Initially they paid out, then they started sending me letters asking me to "wait a bit longer"
However I objected to that as the time limit is 2 months and I was reporting them late (undelivered) after six weeks
Equally, all the items were "recorded" delivery

I eventually traced the items had been received by another customer with a similar surname and postcode but over 30 miles away
This customer had simply been disposing of the "cheap" items and selling the others!

hope you phone the cop shop in for theft!

My postie frequently delivers recorded and special delivery items through my letterbox without asking for a signature! Good for me if I was a bit more dishonest because I would have plenty of opportunities to raise item not received disputes against ebay sellers and they can't prove they arrived.

Yes, we've had quite a few of the above problems here, used to be fine till they changed the usual postlady - she was always on time and didn't seem to make mistakes. Now the mail arrives any time from 7.30am to 1pm, and items can take twice as long as they should.
Better than old area where mail often went missing or arrived opened. The Royal mail seems to have very variable standards these days. I posted a letter, first class, last Thursday afternoon, it arrived Monday lunchtime.

I've mentioned this before, started in 2006 through to 2009
The Royal Mail admitted full liability (they updated their system so as not to mix up all three similar names, addresses, and postcodes)
Ever since then this issue stopped, but I pointed out that did not resolve the issue

It appears to have started again, as I already have some more missing items from April and May
The Royal Mail system shows they arrived at the main sorting depot in Glasgow, but there is no trace after that

I had similar, they placed a "special instruction" on my address (twinned with same street in same town but different p code) they then double checked all items before delivery.

Ref the op and not bringing the parcels, I also have web based cctv and they knock on the door first, if I'm in then they bring the parcel from the van. If I'm out he leaves it round the back in the summerhouse.
