Default cutting out after 15+ miles ??? 1.9 cdti

    Hi everyone
Please bare in mind that i am new on here and more used to building fast mini's than deisels. I have a 2004 1.9 cdti owened for 3 months and loved it, BUT now the problem is it cuts out after around 15 miles and won't re-start untill it has cooled down for half an hour
this has happened twice on the motorway at @ 70mph resulting in a breakdown recovery each time, and now does it every time i use it unless i keep the fan running on it by disconecting the sender
it does not overheat, and the fan never even gets to cut in on its own the engine will just cut out without warning
I have looked at the inj 3 problem but i think my symptoms are different ?
i have taken it back under a 3 month waranty 5 times but all that they have done is flush the engine out, and now the waranty is up
the engine check light comes on sometimes but not all
Is there a temperature sender on the block that is duff sending the signal to the ecu saying that it is to hot ???
it does seem to be temperature related to me as when it has cooled down it starts and runs fine, but as i say it is'nt even getting hot anyway

    Any help greatley apreciated
or it will have to go
    cheers Steve

You need to get the check light code read. Then you will have a better idea of what the problem is.

I'd go for crank sensor they are fine when cold but when they warm up they break down, its common on loads of different cars not just vectra's, mercs eat them for fun lol (german engineering my arse lol)
