    Hi guys I need a bit of advice because it's annoying me now. My car has recently developed a 'judder/lurch/struggle' when reaching boost in high gears. (If that makes sense?) I'll set the scene: Just entered a motorway from the slip road doing about 60mph and cruising in 6th (approx 1600-1800rpm), coming up behind a lorry and nothing behind me for miles so I go for a gentle overtake staying in 6th and slowly put my foot down increasing to about 70mph (nearing 2000rpm) and the car will 'judder/shake' preparing to boost and then pull hard. However, if I where to knock it down into 5th or 4th and plant my foot down it would just pull like a train all the way to 3500-4000rpm.

    The car:
    - Vectra 1.9 CDTi (16v)
    - Remapped
    - EGR valve restricted both sides (not blanked)
    - inlet manifold replaced 5 months or so ago (throttle body cleaned at same time)
    - De-Catted
    - Boost sensor cleaned nearly a year ago (thinking this might be the problem and may need replacing)??


    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated because it's not just become annoying but could be dangerous

    Sorry mate, only just seen this thread

    As you have some idle issues it certainly sounds like either EGR or 3rd injector issues. Its most apparent in the higher gears as they take more effort to get going than the lower gears.

    Has the 3rd injector on yours been changed at all mate...? If not, just remove it, spray some WD40 in the plug and then plug in, remove, plug in, remove and few times then see how it goes (this would be a temp fix) if this sorts it, a new plug is needed - £13 from VX.

    Otherwise could be an EGR issue, it could be sticking, hence why it does it then goes away - it could just need a good clean out (they are very prone to it, hence why I have blanked mine).

    Cheers boss. The injector plugs haven't been changed before. I was kind of wondering it this could be the issue, also the EGR hasen't had a good clean for a while but there is only a very tiny hole allowing gasses into there now so not sure how much stuff I'll find in there. Either way I'll try the cheaper one first and go from there.

    Only thing I can think of is engine mounts. You notice a lot of things on the motorway that you dont at lower speeds because of the smoother roads surface

    Sounds like the injector issue to me. Mines done that a few months ago, I only got the plug changed today - cost me £45 at the dealer.
