Default 04 vectra 1.9 fuel filter change

Hi guys, have no problem doing most jobs on cars but cannot workout how to remove top of fuel filter housing so i can change my fuel filter. Have got a strap wrench on it but it is solid. can the fuel filter housing be removed from the shroud which is restricting access?
    Am i missing somethimg obvious?

There is a screw down through the middle (torx head, T10 I think). remove the screw and the top will lift straight off. You will have to remove the fuel pipes first. Element will then lift out

the filter container can be lifted upwards and removed after disconnecting the bottom electrical connector and top one and 2 feed pipes
Needs to be put in a vice or such to grip it, think its done up to 30nm which is fairly tight and a right pig to undo...

Gary is thinking of the DTi fuel filters not the CDTi Bad Gary... lol..

There may be a how 2!, but remove the inlet & outlet diesel pipes, with one hand above & one below wiggle whilst pushing upwards on the inner cannister! when it comes free, remove the elec connector from below, then remove the complete cannister, it is easier to lightly grasp it in a vise!! but be carefull!!!, unscrew the top and remove & replace.
