    Angry Oil Change problems

Well i managed to jack up the car and get to the sump plug put on a socket and i just cannot make it move. I started to strip the thing a bit. Does anyone know how to remove it. I have already bought oil and filter from Vauxhall for £50 and no one will change it now unless they provide the oil and filter so i am in a mess with it. Oil really needs changing as its over 9 months since it was done.
I have done oil and filter changes on all my care over 18 years and never had a problem till this one. How can such a basic stupid job become a major issue i ask.

I had to use a rubber lump hammer with an extension bar to turn the socket when I did mine.

Six sided socket, or hammer one on that is a size smaller then needed, do it when its slightly warm too. Loads of people find this problem

Just afraid of causing more damage to it, access is real hard have crawl under car from the side to reach the sump and is there a danger of shearing the head of the plug off??
How would anyone get it off then.

Just make sure you have a spare sump plug.

Why is the sump plug so tight on these cars? I have never heard of so many people stripping rounding and ruining sump plugs as on the Vectra????
