Default My red hot racey thing

A bit of a machine polish (until my smartool decided to throw one of its pad mountings off) and sat on some bargain £250 one week old 17's, although they look a bit small in these for some reason (they look huge on the car in the flesh)

No prizes for spotting the water logged fog light (i have a brand new replacement in the garage to fit)

    Total cost so far

    £1100 car
    £250 Alloys
£100 New brakes and a few fiddly bits

Well as you know, although my wife wasnt totally keen on it, that was the original plan, But the more ive looked at the car and whats wrong with, im pleastently surprised that its in pretty good nick. Its got a few areas of surface rust and theres a few minor things need sorting. I know the emissions are good and brakes balanced (thanks to gary3306 for exploiting his works premises )

Going to scrub the wheel arches clean and paint the brakes this weekend if I get chance.

The LET seems like a very common engine swap but i think the more poeple do that, the more standard ones increase in value . I rememeber at Billing on the mk1 astra's stand, all had 16v engines fitted with just one with orginal 1800 8v, which was receiveing the most attention.

Long way off until it acheives mk1 cult status though, espeically as its an unpopular phase 2 (although 1 of only 500). Most people prefer the phase 1 (myself included)
