    Default 2.0 dti tuning

Is there any way of tuning the 2.0dti on the cheap or without doing anything to make it unreliable as it looks like the veccy is going and im getting a zaffy with the same motor. I dont want silly power I was thinking bigger turbo or mapping but ive read that there hard to map is this true?? I know what im going to do to the outside but I dont want all show and no go!

    Cheers Liam

the difficulty to remap lies with the year of manufacture, ie around about my time, 2003-04 the dti were fitted with hybrid ecu, which cannot be mapped, however can be boxed for around the same price, there;s a few peeps on here, who can tell you more, as they have them, and i'm saving for one. the best mod i ever done to a car was free, well £40 quid but the first half was free any how, search for the airbox mod on here, these all raved about it, and i though wth and did it, i was chuffed to bits with the results and immediatley ordered a k&n panel filter, which again amazed me, an absolute must, i promise. also, it wont hurt, to google wynn's egr 3, and Millers Diesel Power Sport 4 fuel treatment, which i swear by and so do many others on here, cheap as chips, and depending on the mileage, and condition of your engine, should provide a noticeable difference altogether, start at the cheapest and work up, thats my philosophy. also think about a decat. its not illegal on diesels.
good luck and all the best,
    michael

You can get a map on the car but trying to find a company to do it took me ages! I found a place called Vizeu who will do it and they write their own maps which can be editted depending on what mods you have done. Thats where im going to get mine done. I would also recommend upgrading the intercooler. Its not cheap but does make the engine run nicer. Their are mixed stories and opinions about box v remap. your better doing your research and making a decision, either way expect £250-£400 for either. Intercooler will cost about £200 in total

EDS do a remap, speak to regal autosport. its not displayed on the website but they do sell one. There are also various other companies that will. Make sure you enquire with them to make sure as the 1st year of production didnt have hybrid ecu bu 03 on did! PITA i know but it wont stop some people. Decat does make a good difference. Really pleased i done it.

To clear this up for you chaps!

The earlier cars have the Bosch EDC15M ECU's (Both the 2.0 DTi and the 2.2 DTi's).

The later cars with the 'hybrid' ECU's run a Bosch PSG ECU.

Both can be mapped, some are certainly fun though. Most if not all the tools will do earlier ones, PSG ECU's are very limited in there coverage but it is there.

    Hope that helps.
