Default Selling V6 buying Pickup Advise please.

Well guys, been here a while now, although not so much of late down to working 15 hour shifts building an extention on my own home. I would like to thank everyone for there help over the last 13 months,it has proved invaluable and makes the club one of the best i have joined.

Anyway, even though it has proven to be a cracking car and puts a smile on my face everytime i turn the key the 3.0 V6 is now on Ebay as i need to purchase a Pickup. I have decided to go it alone and leave the building company i have worked for the last 16yrs. Scary but its now or never.

As my car has every concievable extra i am struggling to choose between two well specced pickups and was wondering if anyone here as any knowledge or experience of either. I am looking to maintain my creature comforts and drivers comfort as best can be expected from a pick up.

Navara Aventura - by far the highest spec and looks great but i have heard many horror storeys with these i.e. clutch replacements, sensor failures and fuel rail problems.

Ford Ranger Wildtrak - Good spec but not as well specced as the Nav. In Wildtrak form a sexy looking truck with great interior and a 3.0 engine. A bit marmite i know but i really fancy one of these in orange the main drawback being the rear centre seat belt is only a wrap over and i have three children. Problem wise i can find nothing major reported on the net but someone here may no different.

In the ideal world i would love to be able to keep the car but with starting a new business this is just not going to be possible.

Thanks again to everyone who has made my stay here a very enjoyable one and thanks in advance to anyone who can advise me on what for now will most likely be my last post. I would like to still pop in from time to time and maybe help out with other members dillemas if possible.

    Cheers.

Thanks for that mate, can i ask if the truck you drove was older than 2007 when the ranger was overhauled. I was warned by a friend of exactly the same thing but it was on a pre 07 plate. I have driven a 3.0l wildtrack on an 08 plate, not any distance mind and i was quielty suprised.

I owned the older shape warrior a couple of years back and it was faultless, i was sad to see it go. As hard as i try i just dont like the newer shape models as much.

why get a poxy pick up for use as a work vehicle, if you are in the building trade buy a van imho, i know many a builder who have made the mistake of buying these fancy carry naff all pick up's and after a short time they have realised just how impracticle they are and traded them in for a decent spec'd van..
