    Default oil change on cdti

hi i am about to try and change my oil again and if i jack my car up high enough and crawl under is it easy to get to sump nut? or do i have to unscrew anything to get to it.
I have worked out i can do the oil filter from the top of the engine i think any help would be great. I have tried this job before but gave up maybe this time i can do it.

All I can say having attempted this recently is BE SURE you have the tooling to undo the sump plug. It is VERY soft and if (as in my case) it has been done up by an idiot with an impact wrench at the last service you will struggle to get it out with a standard socket. The voice of experience here says do this before adding engine flush... doh!

It can be jacked up and on stands. You will have to fold back the under tray which is hinged and can be swung back (requires bending which could damage it but it worked for me). This is 4 torx screws.

If you do change the filter from the top you need to move the coolant expansion tank to reach in. It will spit out loads of oil from the chamber when you remove it - probably all over the exaust... I think it has an outlet which you can attach some pipe to but i haven't tried it.

    Good luck!

Thanks very much for the help appreciate it fella.....i have sockets for sump plug. I hope it moves easily!!!! i do not use flush myself so no probs there. when i put my arm in to reach the oil filter all i needed to move was the expansion tank wiring . should get it off with a socket too. Does look like it will be messy though!!
