Default Changed front pads now no brakes

    HI
I have just fitted new pads (Vx Genuine ) to the front of my Signum and now pedal will go to the floor.
1 I did not push the fluid back to cylinder I clamped the hose and bleed fluid off
2 Have bleed system with 1 1/5 litres of fresh fluid
3 Pedel is rock hard with engine off ( ign off and on )
4 Start engine pedel can be pushed to floor with firm px but if pumped will go hard for a short time
5 Car will stop and kick in abs

Any body any ideas as have done this way before and never had a problem
    Roger

You will need to pump the pedal a few times to get the pads in contact with the discs after them being withdrawn into the caliper, alternately an ingress of air, get someone to assist doing a bleed to ensure air isn't in the system

It is possible that it's an issue with air trapped in the abs modulator, in that with these systems there is often a need to activate the modulator when bleeding the brakes to ensure air is completely dispelled. Might be worth biting the bullet and getting the brake fluid replaced and bled at the same time from a local or VX garage, had mine done the other month at a vx garage and cost about £30 which was fluid replaced and bled.
    Cheers Pete
