Default PS3 60GB Fat Version... DEAD

    Ahhh god damn...

Got the PS3 Yellow Light of Death... playing MW2, system shuts down with flashing red light.

Now wont turn on.... (bought the PS3 on 27th March 2007)

Press the power button. goes green for half second, then yellow then 3 beeps and flashes red.

Cant eject the MW2 Game CD... all dead !!

    Seen this fix on Youtube,

but you guys got any ideas first before I start attacking it with a screwdriver and heat gun?

You can get the disk out, press the power button and then eject it before it shuts down.

mate at work had it and has "fixed" it twice with a heat gun so far. Unfortunately eventually it will just die.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

The problem is with the heat thats produced the solder breaks down and you end up with loads of dry joints. The heat gun helps to repair them - along with a little heat sink paste.

edit: you tried this? - Turn off the system, then hold the eject button down, keep holding it down. Then turn the system back on. Do not let go of the eject button.
