I had a simalar thing with our Vectra B. It said in the handbook 4ltr. But it took nearer 5.5 to get it to the top mark on the dipstick. Even when I supplied the Mobil 1 oil to the VX dealer when they serviced it they had to open the second can I gave them. So I would fill it to the Top dipstick mark.

That does sound a lot to me I must admit. Some will go into the filter. But it does sound wrong to me. Best wait for someone with the same motor as you, to give advice.

It should be 4.5L, possibly 5L at the most but I cant see it being much more than the SE SE mate. 6L will do more damage than good.

The 2.2 dipstick is 50cm long from the flat but under the yellow ring, the difference full and minimum on the dipstick is 1L. The tube/shaft the dipstick sits in is only pushed into the sump, it can be pulled out which will affect the reading. When checking the oil only check it 5 mins after the engine has been run hot, not on a cold engine when the oil has all drained into the sump.

Remember its normally around a litre between min and max on the dipstick, I believe the rated capacity is to fill it to minimum on the dipstick? Anyone confirm?

    Z22YH
    Engine oil = 5.0 litres
Min to Max = 1.0 litres

You therefore need 6 litres to complete an oil and filter change

My Y30DT claims to be 1.3 litres on Min to Max
Was bang on the minimum mark
It took just under 2 litres to get it to the maximum mark
