Default A few mods done tonight.

Well i have the house to myself and some of my new parts arrived today so i decided to fit them tonight ready for tomorrow when hopefully my Pipercross Viper arrives.
Firstly i fitted the red anodised bolts that i brought from Pro Bolt, now i measured the standard bolts and found out that they were M5 x 12mm and M5 x18mm, the only ones i could get though were M5 x16mm but at the moment the differences in length don't seem to be a problem.
Next i fitted the red silicone reducer hose that i bought to replace the horrible corrugated standard one. Once again size has been a bit of an issue as the airflow meter is 80mm diameter and the throttle body is 72/73mm, so with a bit of brute force i managed to get a 80mm to 70mm reducer to fit.

All thats left to do now is to cut the reducer down a bit to give me a little bit more room for the filter and to order another pack of bolts to finish it off as i only ordered 10 as a test bed.

    Nice!

Will be interested to hear what you think of the Viper.

I'm quite anxious to release more of the V6 roar but then again, don't want any heat issues ... the Viper looked a way around this.

Will have to see, the Viper kit I've got coming has come off a V6 MG ZS as it has a 90 degree bend already on it as standard.
I did put a cheap Halfords shielded induction kit on as a tester and compared to the big induction filter i had on my old Audi A4 V6 the Vectra was a heck of alot louder mmmmmmmmmm..

Well last weekend i was cleaning the top of the engine but the bolts were leaving black marks all over so i was taking all the bolts out and polishing them with Autosol, got about half way through and thought sod it i'll change them for some anodised ones.

Just a bit of an update, well the Pipercross arrived this morning so being eager i couldn't wait to fit it. I have had to do a bodge job at the mo as i still need some reducers but as i needed to see if i would be able to fit it as it's not for a GSi.
The new reducer i installed from the throttle body to the airflow meter has had to come off and the standard corrugated one is back (for now) because i needed that for the airflow to filter side.
Unfortunately the new reducer had to be cut down by quite alot but i seem to have cut it a bit too short so i will now need to order another 2.
Now it's on it sucks really well but performance wise i don't seem to notice any difference from the airbox mod and panel filter that was already done, hopefully later tonight once it's a bit cooler i will see if there is an improvement but don't know if it might be better to eventually buy the correct kit for the 3.2 (£70 for this one or the proper one for £200).

Another update on this (i have also started a new thread as well), the Pipercross has now come off and i am back to my K&N panel filter at the moment as i wasn't impressed with either the sound or performance.
On the bolt side of things another pack have been ordered now so hopefully by this time next week they will be fitted and stop my engine cover looking a bit odd.
