I'd say the Vec has more potential for what you say your needs are now - if labradoodle wants to go get one of the covers that fits over front/rear head rests like a hammock, my collie and wife's cats are ok on it. Washable, velcro slits for belts and zip so can be used one side only.
57 plate would have all the niggly stuff already sorted wouldn't it?

Lots of factors to consider, not limited to wallet, insurance, reliability, and so on

If the Signum is reliable and you like it, why change?

I personally only change cars when it starts to become a "money pit", cut my losses and run

I always look for the car with the best features and value for money, for the price
I would only consider a car with stiffer and firmer suspension, if it is an option, and some of the Vectra trim levels match that requirement
Some features I am not interested in, such as leather seats, whilst others are nice to have, such as reading lights

Looking back now, I should have kept my Vectra B until the front suspension sub frame bushes had failed and gone straight to the Vectra C, rather than the Mondeo Mk3
However at the time the Vectra C had just been released, and I never buy a car on its first batch

just because the vectra has much less miles than your signum, how has it been treated during them miles??? and who fitted the mitsi turbo?? if they are reliable to do a good job and have looked after it seems to me there isnt much to loose only a few creature comforts?? can you realistically live without celery holders or are they a requirement that you cannot do without! compromise for POWER!!!

As you know dez i'm looking at changing the signum shortly too i've had a look round a couple of vectra's and the only thing that puts me off is cloth seats in the sri they should have put half leather in like the signums imho. Build quality does seem quite up to the same standard as the signums either.

Hi Howard - agreed its quite a lot of money thats been asked for the SRI and i would loose out on lots of toys and comfort - i would love to have a wolf in sheeps clothing next time out .... so i would love to keep the signum chassis and comforts...... am i getting old but maybe.... just maybe up the POWER
