Default Spending money on your Vectra?

Just wondering if anyone feels the same as me. I have always spend money modifying/improving my car and trying to keep it in good condition.

However lately it doesn't seem worth it anymore. Even though I don't really plan to change for a few years, as I see more and more insignias I realise how my car is just going to become more and more dated.

I used to spend money to make it look nicer, fresher and newer. Now whatever condition its in its going to look more and more old fashioned, and I feel I'd be better saving the money towards a newer car!

Is it just me thats losing interest in it???

It has a few more years left in it yet before it starts looking dated. I would be more concerned if i was a mk3 Mondeo owner as they are really begining to look dated now. They have not aged well at all imo.

I kind of go through the same but I have to say I wouldn't want to part ways with my veccy soon she has been brilliant despite the manifold issue, injector plug issue, and some niggles it's been exceleent to drive and comfortable.

Not bothered by the Insigna at all, as Top Gear said it looks like it was designed by a committee. The new shape Astra is turning my head though, love it. I can see me going back to Astra when I'm done with my Vec in a few years.

I couldn't have put it better myself, that's exactly how I feel these days especially since owning this Vectra, they're enough to put you off cars for life, LOL, been saying to the Missus about getting rid by taking it down the woods and setting fire to it and sticking with the motorbike, she wasn't impressed to say the least!!, mainly as we would have to use her car to go anywhere together as she won't get on the bike. I don't know what a state to get into eh!!
    Cheers Pete

Its not that I want an insignia particulary (funny I like the look of the insignia and not the astra), its just the vectras just starting to look like the older generation. Look at the new Mondeo, Mazda etc.. The new cars just have different styling ques..

    I've never seen the point
Any money that goes in never comes back
I therefore buy a car with the highest specification rather than a base model

After four or five years I then upgrade the car to something newer

This then allows me to invest money in something more worthwhile

I don't like cars that "blend into the background" and all standard Vectras (except the VXR) look that way - so when ever I buy a car I make it look how I want it to look, not bothered about resale of the parts as the enjoyment factor is more than worth it for me - plus when I come to sell it will be stripped and I will get my money back
