Default Is the Vectra 1.9 cdti 120 any good?

I needed a new car a couple of months ago and bought a Vectra 1.9 cdti 120. So far it appears to be one of the worst cars I have ever bought! I had to pay for it on a credit card because my credit rating is so **** that I can't get a loan.
    So far it needs
    1) a new EGR valve (my local garage tried taking it off and cleaning it, but it still doesn't work.
    2) something wrong with the Glow Plugs (dunno what yet)
    3) I've just been told that some flywheel needs replacing (there is a bad knocking noise when it is idling) which I have been told will cost over £500 for the part plus a lot of labour to fit (the garage says that they have to remove the gearbox to replace it)

Is it going to be a good car when I get all of this done? Or have a bought a bad car?

Overall it's not a bad car mate, most of those problems you've described are known traites unfortunatly. Think yourself luck you haven't got the 150 because the inlet manifold could go on it and you'll be paying out near £700 for that to be replaced (like I and many others on here have done).

all the parts you have listed are common to both 120 and 150 engines. the egr on mine i replaced myself, easy job and so far dmf and glow plugs are fine,104k on clock. Its like with most things, luck of the draw. But to answer your question, yes, once these 'common' issues sorted it's a good car. I work for a motor factors and you should see the amount of stuff that goes out to customers for the likes of Mondeo, makes the Veccy look completely reliable.

After 100k miles on my 120 cdti the same 3 things went on mine, cleaned and 'lapped in' the egr valve which made things better, cleaned the boost sensor which is next to it, replaced the glow plugs and also the dmf. Been a very good car since
