    Default Dull Paint Advice Needed

I was giving the vec a bit of spit and polish yesterday and I noticed a dull patch of paint just below the V grill at the front.

It's not a major issue and not really that noticeable but i'd like to get it sorted.

When I polished the car this little dull patch just refused to shine up.

I believe it's probably diesel or tree sap that's tainted the paintwork

    Any ideas ???

has the lacquer been damaged or removed .... or has someone completed a repair and not finished the paintwork correctly ?? i would try some AG paint rejuvinator on it as a first attempt then see what happens -

can you post up a picture ??

    Cheers for the reply

I can't really tell whether it's something on top of the laquer or whether the laquer has gone completely.

I dont think it's a previous repair because the area in question resembles the shape of a 'splat' if you know what I mean.

I am at work now but i'll post up a pic later when I get home

if it resembles a splat then i suspect the lacquer has indeed been "damaged" by bird lime or tree sap ...well worth trying the AG rejuvinator as a first stage and then it can be escalated from there if it doesnt clean off

When I got home I had a quick look at it and I got brave, so I scraped it with my finger nail and it started to come off. It not come off completely though, so i'll buy some of that paint rejuvenator and give it a go. I'm confident now that it will shift completely with some persuasion.

Thankfully the paint work underneath appears to be sound.

Dont know what it was, perhaps tar or something, but it was obviously liquid when it hit the bumper
and brittle when i flaked it off earlier

    Cheers for the advice
