Default Need help on my GTS

Hi everyone i'm new to the forum, my name is Christian and i'm from Romania, i'm 25 years old and i own an Opel Vectra GTS 1.9 CDTI with facelift 2006 (150 hp ).
The reason that i registered this forum is that i need to find out something about my car.
The car has integrated the SPORT button system which controls the suspension , acceleration and brake , at the moment i need to change the suspension but it has IDS, and i want to change it with something PRO RACING like BILSTEIN. After all these details my question sounds like this: If i will change the suspension , will the car get any error readings when i will push the SPORT button? If yes, is there a way to deactivate only the suspension from the the whole system?

I want to change them because the suspension is semi-sport and i'm not satisfied with it, also i want to lower the car few cm and put some 18" 5x110 RIMS.

THX! and sorry for my bad english ! Cheers!

iirc bilstein list a set of dampners specifically for the models with IDS so they have a slot for the sensors - this set should prevent any issues

i said something like bilstein not exactly bilstein... there is a difference ... the prices of the suspension kit with IDS it's much to high in my country it takes me about 1500 euro to change the whole suspension with the ones from opel... i need something aftermarket that's around 300-500 euros. thx! i want to take out the electronics on the suspension... that's the only way i can start tuning my car...

You can just change the springs and keep the stock IDS shocks no probs, its only when you change the shocks that you get problems. And welcome to the site mate.

might be worth a trip to an opel dealer to ask if they can switch the IDS off within the vehicles parameters - that way you can fit what you like

Who was the guy with the Arden VXR who did the same thing and took out all the IDS suspension, shocks and springs?
