    Default Bonnet Sensor

Why is it my car can tell me if any one of the four doors are open, the boot is open, if any of the 5 seat belts are in use or not but fails to inform me that my bonnet is not closed correctly.

Topped my car up with some oil, in my haste forgot to properly close the bonnet set of door the road and luckily noticed the bonnet flapping a bit prior to getting onto the motorway.

I used to think this about my Ford Cougar and I am not sure if there is this feature on the Veccys too (there is a cone shaped button pointing up to where the bonnet sits which may be the same).

The bonnet was just on the latch as I was flying down the autobahn and noticed it shaking... had I not had my music up I would of noticed that the little button beeps the horn and flashes the 4 ways everytime the bonnet rattles up and down...

I would say test it out but I had a bonnet come up on my old Escort Cab and its not too good for visibility... lucky I had the RS bonnet vents fitted

It would've been dead easy for Vx to have linked the bonnet into the door/boot open system as well! There's a switch on the bonnet linked into the alarm system to kick the alarm off if someone forces the bonnet, so why couldn't they have just fed that same signal into the door/boot open part of CanBus?!

Ahhh well informed. I have noticed on another car that it set off the horn. Probably an unintended perk to the button lol!

Its a damn good point though... you can live with your boot being open, but the last thing you want is the bonnet coming up and taking out your windscreen
