Can someone explain the difference between the four pole relays and the five pole relays, whats the middle one for on the fives...
There are a couple of variations on this
A four pin relay controlls one circuit , say a light etc.
A five pin relay controls two circuits, such as two lights etc.
This can work in two ways,
The relay can be used to turn the 2 circuits on and off together, (both on or both off), or
A different type of five pin relay can be used to alternate or switch between the two circuits
one on, and one off and vice versa.
That's the simplest way that I can explain it.
Cheers matey, I'm after one that will switch 2 circuits on at the same time, dont suppose you can point anywhere for that can you...
Most car accessory shops, try Halfords last of all, as they will be the dearest.
Or if you have one, try Maplins or Farnells
bear with me, because I did have a picture of a five pin relay somewhere![]()
Here s a thread I was involved in some time ago..

HI rob, read the input into the linked thread you posted and slightly confused still, there will be no switch in my circuit. I want to feed a trip to the relay from the reverse light circuit which will in turn switch on two seperate circuits, one for reverse camera and one for two extra reverse lights I am planning on fitting. here is a Link to what I think I am after, I seem to be thinking that this one is more the one I need though for some reason, could you please confirm for me Rob before I commit.
