Default Money Back - Yay or Nay??

Here's a totally off-topic question but honest replies please.

Me and the Mrs rescued a 18month old dog and went and collected him last Friday. He was fine over the weekend and Bank Holiday, and on the Tuesday as I was working at home. Wednesday I went back to work, so the Mrs came back at lunch time and all was well.... But Wednesday evening things started to go wrong. In the end, the rescue dog attacked our 3 year old Terrier so today after much soul searching and phone calls to the dog rescue took him back.

I paid £100 to the rescue centre and when I returned the dog, they made no mention about this.

My question is: Am I a heartless b'stard to ask for some of my money back. I dont mind if we get half, that way we are both happy.

I dont mind any answer, but please, be honest, what would you do.

    Thanks in advance

you should have been warned about the dogs behaviour prior to purchase.....if you were not then I would say you have a strong case

Hi, i would only have a rescue dog and if it happened to me i would have a word with them saying that you want your money back even if it is only half. You are trying to help them don't forget its not like your on the market for a cheap dog is it.I would definatley ask. I got a rescue retired greyhound since xmas and its been a dream to be with, he did need watching with other dogs at first cause they've only ever seen other greyhounds.Have a talk to them. Cheers Rik.

They said that he was ok with dogs, but when I returned him, i was told that they only had him with big dogs... so our other being a little terrier was doomed by the sound of it.

not a good enough explanation in my opinion,.....if it was bad with children would you leave it with a teenager?...........be nice and talk it through , perhaps look at another dog

I understand where you are coming from, but, if I went for another dog soon, they would want another £100 donation ... does that seem fair?

usually when you adopt a rescued dog the organisation who rescued it will do a home visit to check your homes suitability, plus they will ask you all sorts of questions regarding children, other pets etc... this is what the rspca did when me & the ex adopted a border collie, we couldnt just take her home, they had to do all the checks first.

did they do this before you took the dog home? if not, sounds like the sort of place anyone should avoid!
