confused warning light not going out

hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me. nothing to serious i hope but il try explain the best i can... when a sensor picks up that theres a light out or whatever it tells you on the screen in the centre consol and on a wee sqaure light on the speedo, you press the button on the right hand stock at the steering wheel and it goes away. well the wee square light on my speedo is staying lit. its a wee pic of a lightbulb with an exclamation mark in it, most importantly is that the symbol for a light being out? and can that symbol ever be anything more serious. and second since all my lights are working is there a reason for the centre consol going back to normal and the speedo keeping telling me? cant find all the symbols and meanings in my handbook that would also be a handy thing to have if anyone knows where to get a list. hope someone can shine some light thanks guys.

You've most likely got a bulb that is on it's way out, or possibly loose/dirty connections to that bulb. Does your centre display tell you which bulb it thinks has failed? If so check/clean or change that particular bulb and you should be sorted

Check your brake lights. Should the upper tail/brake light fail, the lower tail light takes over the role of tail/brake light.

The driver info centre will normally warn first, in "panic mode", almost like a smoke alarm!

However if the bulb warning has come in the rev counter than a bulb is near to or has failed
The usual ones are brake bulbs, the system swaps over and uses the rear marker lights
The only way to check is to look at them when in use
The rear indicator bulbs are also quite sensitive, therefore if you replace one replace the other

Is this the handbrake light - it also doubles up as the low brake & clutch fluid warning light. Best check your fluid level if this is coming on while driving the car.
