    Default "Phone Safe"

Hi, I've only just joined this forum 2 mins ago, and I know NOTHING about cars so I apologise if I have posted on the wrong site or sound like an idiot.
I have a Vectra 1.9 cdti 120, I have connected my Sony Ericson C905 to my car via Bluetooth. Everything works ok, making/receiving calls, phonebook, etc. The only problem I have is when I am navigating through the menu's, every 5 seconds I get the message on the display saying "Phone Safe". This stays on the display for a couple of seconds during which I can not do anything.
This gets very frustrating. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks
    Richy

You need to get someone with Tech2 to look at it, sounds like a either faulte bluetooth module, or a module thats not coded correctly.

The UHP (phone) module is not coded to the car for some reason.

Someone with either tech2 or vauxcom needs to:

    1) make sure the mid-speed CAN settings are correct in the DIS, EHU, DAB, ECC, UHP, CIM (as appropriate) ECUs.
    2) go into the EHU (stereo) ECU and do an "activate theft protection", using the security code on your car-pass.

Thanks Stampede, that sounds a little complicated to me. What with all the other problems the car has, I think that I'll just live with it being slow going through the phone menu's.

Mark, I tried another phone, but whilst I was connecting it, I had the same 'PhoneSafe' message before I had even connected it, when there was no phone connected.

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions.

    Rich.
