Keep your long one mate, its tuned for the engine. Been down this path on the 2.2 and it has a negative affect, the only benefit is slightly less heat soak when sat at the lights.

It affected low down torque. An NA works by vacuum, it sucks air into the cylinders rather than forced like a turbo. Each time a piston gets to the bottom of its stroke and the inlet valve closes then its going to sent a pulse down the intake system. The length of the pipe is tuned to accommodate this pulse for each engine, the 2.2 obviously needs the longer intake, and to back this up all the NA VX220 boys keep the long pipe as they all notice a drop in torque with a shorter pipe. To put it another way, why would VX fit a longer and more expensive pipe when they could fit a shorter and cheaper one. TBH on a 140-150bhp Vec C you probably wouldn't notice the difference anyway, same power in a little shoe box shows up quite a bit. For raw top end BHP the shorter one may well add a little but to the detriment of low down torque and as the saying goes, "Torque wins races and BHP sells cars" or something like that LOL
