    Default Huming Noise

Hi new to this forum and was advised to give it ago by a friend so hope you guys can help.

I have 53 reg Vectra 2.0DTI. The vehicle had a huming noise which seems to come from the front of the car. It starts at around 30mph and gets louder and then at about 50mph seems alot quieter. It also gets a lot worse when turning left for some reason and you can feel it through the pedals.
I have checked under the car and found that the wishbone needed replacing so did that yesterday. I have also put new tyres on the back and moved the back to the front but still no joy.
I am thinking wheel bearings or hub assembley but what side would it be if the noise gets worse turning left.

    Hope someone can help

    Thanks

    Michael

jack the car so that the wheel is off the floor than try to rock from side to side and then up and down if there is any movement check your nuts are tight and if it still wobbles it defo your wheel bearing
    hope that helps
it does sound like a bearing

Does definatly sound like the a wheel bearing is on it's way out, jack the wheel up and spin it listening carfully. If there is a gritty noise or it's just not smooth to turn it's knackered. There isn't alway play in them when they start making the noise

Pretty sure IDS was only fitted with the sport button. You would know by looking at the front struts

After doing a bit of research the Vec can have IDS without having the sport button (and yes some Vec Cs/Signums came fitted with the sport button)

You'd be able to tell if you have IDS by looking at the strut though. If it looks like a normal strut with no extra wires then you don't have IDS. If you have a little tank and a few wires going to it you'll have IDS
