    Thumbs up Airbox Mod!!

Hi guys, decided id do the airbox mod last night, so drove to southport (approx 25miles) and averaged 49.6mpg, did the airbox mod and drove back averaging 54.2mpg. Purposely did it quite late so I had the same traffic condition in both directions. The car seemed more eager to rev hench not needing to use the throttle pedal as much and noticably more eager to pull, esspecially between 2000-3000rpmso all in all, a worth while mod!!!!

Yup, airbox mod really worked for me too, on both my old 2.0T and the 1.9CDTI I now have. Simply improves airflow into the engine and can smooth out flat spots.

Southport bypass is a good proving ground, even for speed testing (allegedly)

Hmmm - I have the DTI - might venture into doing mine tonight as up to Brum tomorrow for work. Be a nice long run (110miles from here) to see if any differences.

if its anything like all other vauxhalls, open airbox, take the NVH trumpet out of the engine side of the airbox (usually unclips) and if you want, shorten the pipe in the bottom/atmosphere side of the box. New paper airfilter.

    Done.
Mildly better noise and better performance and or economy.

its the little cover on the inlet of the air to the box rather than the pipe exiting the box towards the engine
