Default 1.9 cdti spanner light power loss

hi, literally purchased this car from a dealer yesterday... it's a 54 plate vectra cdti 150bhp with 47k on the clock.

Question one. are they all sluggish below 2200-2500rpm?

Question two. was driving it today and was the first time i had it up to temperature, when i gave it a bit of welly to see how it went. Sluggish below the 2200rpm mark, but seemed to pick up nicely after, then hit around the 4000rpm and the spanner light turned on and i lost all power. Felt like the turbo had stopped spinning, or maybe it had gone into a limp mode?
I then crept to my destination where i was parked for half hour moaning about it. Decided to drive it home, and when i turned the ignition on, the light was off.
Drove it, seemed fine.... got it up to temp again and gave it a bit of stick and was fine.

Any ideas on what trouble i may have just bought?!!

Sounds like a split hose bud but the best way is to get the codes read.

Under 2200rpm points to the EGR valve.

Like I say bud the best bet is to get the codes read.

I took it back to the dealer, where they said the same and replaced a boost pipe that was split. Everythings been fine until last night when it happened again.
Will update this thread so its of some use to others in the future... nothing worse than reading a whole thread just to get to the end and not find out the outcome!

Does it drive better under 2200 rpm with the new MAF?

Um, no! It's going back AGAIN tomorrow... will keep you posted on what they do next! Maybe egr valve but would that cause it to go into limp mode on full load?

I would remove, strip and clean the EGR valve and also the boost sensor. two extremely common faults, especially the EGR valve.

Ok, well if they don't get to the bottom if it, I'll try the suggested fixes. But I'm slowly losing faith as I've only owned it a week! :-(

Dropped it off, mechanics lead to believe it could be the turbo actuator?
