    Default steering wheel wobble/vibration

just wondering if anyone has experienced this , the car looks to have nearly new tyres on the 20" rims albeit they are a budget make {nexus?} but between 75-80 there s quite a bad wobble on the steering wheel which while not dangerous isnt really acceptable on a 9 month old car with 24k on the clock, just wondering if this is to do with the big wheels or cheap tyres or could just be a balancing issue after the new tryes have been fitted

Most likely to be a combination of cheap tyres and balancing.

Definatley take it back to the dealers to get the balance checked, if your lucky a wheel may have just dropped a weight. If your unlucky like me, you could have a buckled wheel. So thanks to the state of our roads I'm off to get one of my 19" snowflakes straightend tomorrow.

Well not as much as I'd feared, after doing a bit of research I found a place in Prestwick called carrick engineering that's got good reviews by people both for wheel repairs and powder coating. Gave them a call today and got a quote of £25 per wheel for straightening pothole damage and it only takes 2 hours to do.

Will post up tomorrow how I get on, I'm a bit wary of getting repairs done on wheels as I had one of the snowflakes straightend and welded before by a different company. I was charged £90 the job looked good when done but the repair only lasted 4 months before the inner rim cracked again at the welds.

well my wobbles are all cured, took it to my mate at ATS who pointed out that the directional tread on both front tyres was pointing the wrong way!
also the balancing on both wheels was miles out, both tyres were brand new so had to have been fitted by the dealer, doesnt inspire much confidence when they cant even put 2 tyres on the right way anyway all fixed now and lovely smooth
