Default Poll Cdti 150 or vxr.....

ok maybe a no brainer to some people but iv read around and it seems some peeps are saying cdti 150 with a crd-t box is pretty much the same performance as a vxr what your thoughts on this what would you rather have weighing up performance economy moneys excitement factor

I would agree with Grimo72 not comparable really but in the real world on real roads the two would be capable of covering the same clogged tarmac, every bit as well as the other and one of them at 50mpg!

    a vxr is 280bhp
    a cdti 150 is 150bhp

    a vxr with a remap = around 300
a cdti with a tuning box = (at a guess because i dont own one) 170-190bhp

however as noted above in the real world with being driven everyday the cdti makes much more economical sense purchase price, fuelling cost, insurance cost, tax cost all should be lower than a vxr!

but if you can afford it............................

Well my last car was a 1.9 150 with a box on and was producing around 190bhp. I traded that in for my VXR280, and as standard the performance difference was worlds apart. Now that the VXR is remapped (Courtenay Sport), it is producing 310BHP and 405ftlbs torque. Pretty decisive I would say

Having said that, my 1.9 was no slouch. Far from it.
