    confused is my cat cream-crackered

fitted 2 new lambda sensors as they were both knackered, now after nearly 3 weeks eml back on with code:

P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

does this mean that the cat is cream-crackered? checked the cat itself and there is no rattles from it and the element inside is still whole.

    any help gratefully received

I have emailed a couple of places this weekend, will hopefully get replies this coming week.. its a case of changing to a 3 inch downpipe without a pre-cat and have a 200cpi sport cat, should help with the bhp and keep it legal for emissions etc.. prices for a new standard 400cpi cat are about 175 quid though if you wanted to just get a replacement as the sportcat option maybe about £250 or more. Maybe (hopefully) somebody else on here will have more info having done this before.

Give Neo brothers a phone buddy - spoke to them last week and they offer various packages of tuning the Z20NET including supplying sport cats

I had the same problem with my old 2.0t, code P0420 was coming up so the garage i bought it from changed both co2 sensors, the sensor in the intercooler pipe, the sensor in the throttle body and throttle body. After all that it was still bringing the same code up so they sent it to my local Vauxhall dealer and low and behold it was the cat (i told the garage what it was before they changed everything listed above).

Graba bottle of this mate, used it many a time with proven results 2 same situation as yours and other emmisions a good few times. alot of mechanics will vouch for this if they have used it. pick it up from any decent factors and ebay around 12 quid a bottle.
