Exclamation Central locking problem, Drivers door

    Vectra 1.9 cdti SRi 150 2004/54 plate

As above, basically the light on the dash is saying the drivers door is open, but obviously not and as a result is keeping the interior light on,,,,, the main problem though is cannot lock the car, locks go down the flip back up agin once i press the key fob button.

Ive had a look at it the morn and i cant see any obvious probs, seen people mention on here and other forums to check the strike where the door latches to, adjusted that and still to no avail.

Mighti be right in thinking the actual locking mechanismn in the door is faulty and is it worth replacing that or will that be a waste of money and time ?

Also in the mean time has anyone any ideas what i can do to make the car secure as the actual door lock (where the key goes in) is stuck solid as i assume its never had a key in it in the past 6 years of its life.

Thankyou for reading, any help would be muchly appreciated, thankyou once again.

Would u reccomend just change the whole mechanism then ?, found one on eBay for 25 quid which I thought wasn't bad too really, assuming it works of course but brand new theryre nearing 100 quid which is a big jump from 25 sencond hand.

What's your thoughts on that please mate ?

To secure your car at night you could disconnect the batt or remove the fuse(s) to disable the central locking, then push the clicks down by hand and do the drivers door with the key?

I would try the 25£ version first.. but you have to check that it matches via part nr... as theres differences.. as if alarm, deadlock ect.

Try dipping your key in wd40, and then insert it into the lock.
Try rocking the key back and forth in the tumbler, it should work the tumbler loose.

I had this issue when my car was three years old...just stuck due to lack of use!!
