Default Help! - Rear bulb holder issue

Bought myself some sri smoked rear clusters to replace the awful orange indicator ones on the car. Replaced no issues in 20 mins.

Went to lock the car and realised the indicators were flashing white. Ok, no problem I'll just put some orange bulbs in that i have in the toolbox. Oh no, the pins are offset on the orange bulbs and wont fit the bulb holder.

Question is are there different bulb holders for the smoked/clear indicators or am i missing something. Anyone have the part number? I've searched on here and and google with no luck

(Had to go to B&Q and get some orange paint to paint the white flashers so i can go to work tomorrow!)

    Ben

i had a similar problem, but all the bulbs in the rear lights in my car are the straight pin variety. to my knowledge, only the front indicators are the offset pin type.

i've found some stright pin ones on ebay but £2 per bulb is a bit steep, surely its just the bulb holder that is different on the smoked and clear clusters?

yes, you can get straight pin indicator bulbs, my suggestion would be to get the silvered ones, then you wont even see the yellow bulb through the smoked tip of the lights.

as for price, you wont get the bulbs for pence, but have a trawl through ebay, searching for silver indicator bulbs straight pin or chrome indicator bulbs straight pin. Expect to pay a minimum of around £4 including postage for a pair, or you could keep an eye out for the specials at Aldi or Lidl, they have been known to sell the silvered bulbs from time to time for £1.99 a pair i think.
