Default Help with EGR fault clearing please?

    Hi,
I am a newbie so please be gentle. I have used some really good data on this forum to remove, clean and repair a jammed solenoid on the wifes 1.9 CDTI 150 Zafira. The thing is now working great on a 12V bench power supply in the garage with the valve opening with 12 V applied and closing when the supply is removed.
I have refitted the EGR to the car - no problems - but the engine symbol remains lit on the dash and the press brake + accelerator while turning the key on says the same code.
Is there anything I can do to put the light out and clear the code without having to spend money at VX ???
    Thanks

Thanks for the very quick reply!! I left the battery disconnected for over 30 minutes and then reconnected it. Unfortunately the engine light is still on and same fault code ECN 40065A shows with a pedal test. I presume this means that either a fault condition still exists associated with the EGR, although I'm not sure how it knows since the device is essentially a solenoid that still has the same coil resistance as before it had when it was seized; or that removing the battery in this case does not clear the fault alarm condition in the ECU. Another possibility I guess is that there is something wrong with the solenoid drive signal (12V). I can measure a convincing +12V coming from wherever it comes from (presume it's the ECU wherever that is).
Looks like I have no option other than to take it to the garage

Thanks for the help on the forum.
    Cheers

I got a mobile mechanic to check my fault codes cost £30 and he also said if it comes back he'll come and check it and clear it for free.
