Default Cleaned out the EGR and fitted Fiat Gasket today

Well second time I have taken my EGR Valve off to clean and I found................

Nothing, Valve was lightly soiled but that was it (same as the first time).

Just for the fun of it I fitted the Fiat restrictor Gasket and then gave it a blast up the road and no issues.

I am sure most of the issues with the EGR Valve in the first place are caused by the way the car is driven. Mine is driven hard and does a lot of motorway mileage so I think thats why it is so clean.

1.9 CDTi 150 2005 full canbus BSR remap 125k miles

Will keep you all up to date if the Fiat Gasket causes any problems

I would agree with the soot build up and puddle jumping, long drives result in clean exhaust gasses relatively speaking, so makes a lot of sense.

Been reading about V power diesel and redex etc on here lately, do you use either? Bit the bullet and put £35 of V power derv in this morning ready for a weekend run, to my surprise it does seem to run better.

tried some millers diesel sport for about 4 tanks fulls, my mpg dropped 3-5 mpg. Will not be doing that again. Made no difference to the running either. Normally fill up at Tescos so no I dont use V power or the BP stuff
