    lol

Just build what you want, but make sure there is a hay stack in front of it for 4 years

    It'll all be fine

The DDA relevance to building regulations applies to new buildings, extensions, and alterations

However, there is a big difference between its application in home use and commercial use

Equally, there are some obvious exclusions, such as if the extension cannot be accessed by a , then the extension itself need to meet all the requirements

It's more about what is reasonable than what is mandatory
I am just completing a renovation of a house in Glasgow and although I was not required to meet most of the DDA requirements I have installed some of them as they actually make living easier
It's worse when you come to extensions and major alterations, as you may have to incorporate more of the DDA requirements (such as ramps, access, dual lighting, wide doorways, etc)

I am a shop fitter and Interior Designer and we have had one or two "issues" relating that have been a major butt ache as they are IMHO items of free standing furniture that are by nature exempt from internal fixtures reg's yet we have had notice that this "desk" must feature a DDA point that would be so large as a percentage of size that it "discriminates" against able bodied people!
