    Default 130/160ps diesel overboost

    hello

i read in some vauxhall literature a while back that the 130 and 160 diesels have an overboost function increasing the torque. however, more recently ive only seen this mentioned about the 160 ecoflex engine. can anyone clarify if this overboost exists on all of the diesel engines? thanks

According to the latest brochure (January 2010) feature only available on ECOflex 160ps temporarily increasing maximum torque from 350Nm to 380Nm, in order to make overtaking easier.

I have recently read a review that said that the ECOflex 160ps diesel is not as quick on the move as the standard model, because it has different gear ratios from the standard model, as well as other changes required to achieve the lower emissions figure of 139 gms as opposed to the 154gms on the standard model, and improved fuel economy.

I hope you do too, although I have read that the ECO models do need to be worked harder than the non-ECO's as they are geared more with economy in mind. But where there's a will, there's a way.

The Exclusiv's are a good buy, and well-equipped for the cost, and are by no means 'poverty-spec', and the Plus pack gives it that little bit extra street cred.

yeah the spec looks pretty good. i had a 160 SE model for a hire car for a few days. that was a lovely car. that engine is good, its too easy to do 100mph though. very quiet, smooth and plenty of power. my only issue with them is the size. they feel big compared to the vectra. i think they're 9" longer

Parking sensors on the back end are a very useful extra, the rear view through the back window is not that good for squeezing into tight spots.
