    Default MOT time

Car went in today for 88000mile service and MOT, passed no problem but it has some annoying faults

    1. Clonk when taking up drive but ONLY after its been stood for over an hour, and then it only clonks once, MOT tester cant find anything to cause the noise.

    2. Last couple of seconds of braking when your almost at a standstill, the rear brakes are binding, once more, the MOT tester has checked and double checked the brakes and found nowt.

    3. Inboard CV joint not looking too great but not a cause for alarm, but still booking it in for my next day off to get replaced.

    4. Back boxes look pretty manky but are not blowing, but Ive got the cash to get the system replaced by the guys in Walsall, so not a problem.

    5. This is the killer...............both front tyres are down to 1.9mm.... not happy as their less than 12 months old and have only covered 6000 miles if that.

Could the CV joint be the source of the clonk?

CV joint is fine, the clonk is'nt from there, but its bleedin' annoying as it does it once when you move off and not again no matter how hard you turn or accelerate

It actually sounds more like something in the glovebox falling over, but the glovebox is empty
