Default EBC discs and Red Stuff pads

Anyone fitted these to their car? I know Mark the Cabby has put the pads on, but iirc it was the Vx discs (that had been grooved).

When I get my car back, one of the first things I need to do is change the front pads and discs as they've haven't got much mileage left in them - may as well do it sooner rather than later.

I can get front disc and pad kit (Vx) for about £50 (Trade Club) or I can go and get EBC discs and Red Stuff for £225 - bit of a difference!!

Question I have is, has anyone gone from VX discs and pads to EBC discs and Red Stuff pads? Was there a big difference in braking performance? I'm not going to go to EBC just to have a nice red bit showing in the caliper. The reason to change would be if it was a significant differene in braking power.

    Anyone had experience?

I donít think they make brake discs big enough for what you need Duncan, judging by the times youíve needed to stop and havenít. If you do get some, im betting the insurance company will part fund them as its cheaper for them that way

I've been looking into this as well, a local place sells them you should compare their prices

    www.motorsportworld.co.uk

you should consider a larger bumper instead of brakes maybe?

I was wondering who would be the first with that sort of post!

Sheesh - you clip the back of one car, and you're a serial car crasher!

I looked at them as well. They're exactly the same price as in my original post (which was LMF).

tbh i dont think the discs will make much difference to the vx ones? the pads will be more inclined to give you better performace. unless u just get new front Vx discs and have them grooved for you

Go for the 314mm upgrade D. Makes a hell of a difference to the 288mm's i had on mine.
You might not notice so much though as you have 302's at the moment.

oh only 302's might be worth the upgrade, mark the cabby said even changing the pads and replaced Vx discs grooved made a hell of a difference. So with Duncan and his extra 12mm would make an even bigger impression on stopping power
