    Default tyres

if my tyres are 215 50 17 is this the right size for my vectra 3.0ltr cdti?

and could i go to 225 50 17 tyres on the same rims without any touching the inner walls of my car?

    Vehicle : Insignia Tourer

    Trim : Elite

    Engine : 2.0 CDTI (160ps)

    Year : 2010

    Default

Go to 225/45/17's, better range of tyres, look slightly nicer and a lot cheaper to buy and still an officially supported size by Vauxhall.

I swear by Neuton NT5000 from Neo brothers in Waltham Cross (I live in Scotland have no affiliation to them in any way) They are quiet, compliant are XL rated so wear far better and on my Saab Aero I got 20K out of them compared to 9K from a set of Falkens just doing the same ole same ole driving every day.

I currently have a budget brand that is very good called Minerva F105 (also as Rotalla F105) these are also very quiet and really grippy though I have only done about 1,000 miles with the car.

Neutons are around £52 a corner plus fit and Rotalla about £46

Both are available off ebay to your door from what I see.

PLEASE!!! avoid a tyre called Westlake They are dangerous as that's whats on the front of my Vectra till I wear them out or afford new ones they are the worst tyre I have ever experienced!

Pleasure, I am NOT a brand snob and fell foul of those on the Saab website who condemned the Neuton without trying them. They look a bit like Bridgestone RE050 have a great kerb protector and Neo's use them to race with on their 300HP 9-3
    .

I felt so comfortable with them I put them on my wife's car in which my daughter travels most, so if this is helpful I am delighted.

Size wise I have gone from 215/50 to 225/45 on my own Vectra

Get the 225/45/17's. The 45 profile is a percentage of the width not a set size. So this means they won't be much difference to a 215/50/17.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
