Default SRi 17" alloys and lowered?

    Hi All,

Generally getting bored with my Vectra C 1.8vvt SRi and it has at current little or no modifications done to it!

I have little money to spend on it so not a great budget but I find more increasingly that my alloys look tiny! 17" with 225/50 on them. I want to go euro on it so will be looking at 18" to 19" upgrades with a dish on them.

My question is will lowering the car on standard alloys make the car look better and could I get by with keeping the 17" rims would they look bigger?

My alloys are the 5 spoke ones or 10 spoke but in a star arrangement, your car looks nice and I think it makes the alloys stand out more which is what I would want to acheive.

Found these alloys on ebay today not a bad price either but it would take me 2 to 3 months to save or I could get lowering springs next month?

To go lower profile you generally need bigger rims.

Reasons being that it will throw your speedo out and will also actually make your wheels smaller in comparison to the car.

The only real option to make your wheels look bigger is buy bigger rims mate.

What sort of budget do you have?

I know im trying to con myself here I think on saying that jordib's car looks pretty sweet with that setup of lowering with the standard rims.

If I bought the alloys one at a time each month that would work for me I would only have to wait two months till I had two which I could put on the rear to see what they were like!
