Can anyone point me in the right direction of a cheap tool box which will have all the right tools for doing general maintenance, and for changing drop links and rear springs? Want to try some stuff out myself.

One thing you don't want is 'cheap' tools. At best they'll break, at worst you'll hurt yourself. Get along to halfords and treat yourself to some of their professional range, it'll pay dividends in the end.
Not meaning cheap as such, but im not going to use the tools too often just for general maintenance and simple how2 stuff
Lol you have no idea how poor quality a cheapy cheap set of tools is until you snap a spanner and buy a decent set... plus simple things like spanner length... On a cheap set they all tend to be a lot shorter which means you struggle to undo simple nuts and bolts!
Your more likely to slip off them and round them off as the metal is too felxible etc... causing big bills at a garage to have it all repaired.
And either way make sure you buy METRIC... dont waste your time on a half metric half imperial toolbox... waste of time nowadays!
Lol, I still have some whitworth spanners and sockets.
Which you won't need unless you're gonna fix Greengrasses truck lol
Somebody care to point me in the right direction
Cheap... not an easy one.. I would buy seperate though. Halfords have good deals on as its lifetime guaranteed for spanners etc, but your gonna need Torx bits, spring compressors, more torx bits... Infact I would go for the torx allen keys, bit set AND socket set!
Apart from that just your spanners, sockets, screw drivers and plier sets and you should be sorted oh and obviously hammer, strap spanner... but after the basic stuff you can just buy as you need.
I spent 150 euros on my basic tool kit and have easily doubled that over a year (not including the tools I get from work!)
Everytime I go to halford I always end up buying another kit or set just in case it might be useful lol
But as a basic good cheap set, not a 'cheap' set that'll be crap and break is there 150piece toolkit which is about £100 but lifetime guarantee on most items within it.... Suspension changes is another ballgame... You'll need spring compressors, a decent set, and a vortex socket set is a good investment for undoing the topmount with the least amount of trouble.... A good sized torque wrench is also a must for when doing things back up and a breaker bar for undoing them stubborn nuts.!
rear springs wont need vortex sockets... just if your doing the fronts... rears are female torx

Hundred quid but its got most things you will need for basic work and good quality... but like some of the lads said.. Halfords are reasonably priced and have the lifetime guarantee.
You don't need a big red roller storage cupboard though... bare that in mind when you buy a set as it looks nice but you wont get as many tools for your money.
